Trouble Shooting
****************************************************************************
1) Ive tried to install AFS with HDToolBox but when I click on "Save
Changes" HDToolBox says there is not enough space in the RDB.
This problem is generally caused by not having enough space in the RDB
to store the new file system.
a) The first think to check is that you have no other file systems installed
on that hard drive.
i) Reboot your machine and load HDToolBox. Click partition drive.
ii) Click on "Add/Update" from the partitioning menu (You need to enabled
advanced options first).
iii) If there is any filesystem in this list click delete them and then try
again.
b) If this fails then it is because:
HDToolBox dose not allow you to choose how much space you want to allocate
for the RDB's. It just uses 2 cyclinders on each hard drive.
Ami-FileSafe is about 40K, so you need a single cyclinder to be at least 20K.
(This generally isn't a problem, except on small hard drives).
i) Get a tool called RDBPrep and use that instead.
ii) If you are on a SCSI drive and you can clear the whole drive:-
a) Double the number of blocks per Track (And block per Cylinder) and then
half the number of Cylinders. You must round down not up.
b) Keep doing this until the blocks per track is above 80.
c) Save the changes, and re-format the drive.
iii) Use a tool called RDBMount (On Aminet). Make a custom file system
partition (Non-Automount). Type in the correct dostype (0x41465301)
and add the correct RDBMount command to your user-startup.
iv) Use mountlists (See your manual).
v) Get another RDB prep tool.

2) Ive installed Ami-FileSafe but when I try accessing longer files my
machine hangs up.
This generally means you have set the MaxTransfer value incorrectly.
a) load HDToolBox.
b) Click on the correct drive and select partition drive.
c) Click on your AFS partition and enable advanced options.
d) Type in the new maxtransfer value.
i) If you are using an IDE drive and you are unsure what value to use
type in 0xffff
ii) If you are using a SCSI drive then you should check your manual for the
correct maxtransfer value. A3000 users do not have to alter the maxtransfer.
iii) Save the changes and reboot.

3) Ive tried to mount an AFS partition from shell but I keep getting an out
of memory error, but I have enough memory free.
This means you have tried to mount an AFS partition under the same name as a
partition in the rigid disk blocks.
Just change the name of the partition (In the mountlist) you are trying to
mount.
